About Malcolm

The world is full of differences. Understanding those differences is what brings us together.

Malcolm Teasdale is an international traveller, author and global culture speaker who believes that understanding the people, cultures and traditions of our world is one of the most powerful ways to build mutual respect, challenge misconceptions and bring people closer together.

Having travelled to 118 countries, Malcolm has experienced the extraordinary diversity of our planet firsthand. From the ancient traditions of the Himalayas to the vibrant cultures of Africa, from the fascinating histories of Asia to the rich heritage of the Caribbean, his journeys have provided a unique perspective on how people live, what they believe, and what makes each society distinctive.

But travel is about much more than visiting remarkable places, taking photographs or ticking destinations off a list. It is about the people we meet, the conversations we have, the assumptions we challenge and the lessons we bring home.

Throughout his travels, Malcolm has discovered that while our customs, languages, religions and ways of life may differ enormously, we share many of the same hopes, ambitions and concerns. Recognising those common bonds, while respecting the differences that make each culture unique, is at the heart of his message.

From Global Business to Global Understanding

Before dedicating himself to writing, travel and public speaking, Malcolm built an international technology business, drawing on more than three decades of business travel to major cities and commercial centres around the world. Following the sale of his company in 2013, he embraced the opportunity to explore the world on his own terms, seeking out destinations that offer rich cultural, historical and educational experiences.

His adventures have taken him far beyond the familiar tourist trail, including destinations such as Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, Mongolia and Namibia. These experiences have reinforced his belief that some of life's most valuable lessons come from stepping outside our comfort zones and seeing the world through someone else's eyes.
